Equinix, the digital infrastructure company with more than 230 data centers, needed to fix inconsistent performance and availability in its Siebel CRM environment while reducing administration and preserving control as it grew. With Oracle Exadata, Equinix aimed to support critical sales, service, and security access workloads on a more reliable platform and improve agility across its global operations.

Oracle implemented Oracle Exadata Database Machine X8M to host Equinix’s transactional and analytical databases, improving Siebel CRM performance by at least 40% and large batch queries by 4X to 5X without code changes. Oracle also helped Equinix cut database counts by 51%, reduce patching time by 90%, lower management time by 30%, automate about 4,000 hours of maintenance annually, and save roughly 50% versus its legacy environment.
