Eneco moves applications to Oracle for faster performance

Eneco, the sustainable energy provider serving 2 million customers in the Netherlands, needed to reduce the time spent managing IT infrastructure and replace aging Oracle Exadata systems while keeping mission-critical applications stable. Working with Oracle and Capgemini, the company chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Exadata Cloud Service to support its custom billing application, data warehouse, and other critical workloads.

Oracle helped Eneco migrate applications and databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in a phased program that improved availability, performance, and security while lowering risk. The project cut costs by 50%, reduced software licensing, maintenance and support costs, and was completed in just four months for the final migration phase, with higher availability for business users and minimal business impact.
