Empresas Dragón gains security and savings with Oracle Cloud

Empresas Dragón, a Mexican maker of fertilizers and pesticides with more than 85 years in the market (including units ANSA and Empeco), needed to reduce IT costs, strengthen security, and adopt modern technology by moving away from its physical data center and running databases and applications in the cloud.

Working with Smartech, Dragón migrated to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Compute and Oracle Database Cloud Service), which delivered about a 30% reduction in planned five‑year technology investment and 99.95% platform availability since 2018. The move improved security, provided strong Oracle support and training, freed IT teams to focus on farmers’ needs, and made the shift to remote work much easier during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
