Employment Agency of the Republic of Macedonia Trains Jobseekers in Oracle

The Employment Agency of the Republic of Macedonia (AVRM), a government body that supports unemployed jobseekers, was tasked by the Ministry of Labor to help reduce high national and youth unemployment and to grow the country’s IT talent pool ahead of EU integration. With unemployment over 23% overall and 37% for 25–29 year olds, businesses and the Macedonian Chamber of IT needed hundreds of qualified software developers to attract investment and expand outsourcing opportunities.

AVRM partnered with Oracle University and local partner SEMOS Education to deliver free classroom training in Java SE7 and provide the Oracle Certified Associate exam to more than 100 jobseekers. The program achieved a 90% certification pass rate and an 85% employment rate among participants, quickly placing certified Java professionals into the labor market, improving salary prospects, and helping meet national demand for skilled IT talent.
