Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation Increases Mission-Critical Application Performance 50x with Engineered Systems

Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), established in 2009 to deploy and operate nuclear power plants across the UAE, needed to scale IT to support rapid organizational growth and mission‑critical operations. ENEC faced challenges to handle 1.5x more databases and many more users, improve performance and stability of core applications, accelerate batch processing and provisioning, ensure 24/7 availability for safe plant operations, and reduce capital, space, and energy costs.

ENEC implemented Oracle Exadata and migrated ten Oracle databases and E‑Business Suite workloads, supported by Oracle Advanced Customer Support. The engineered system delivered about 50x greater performance, centralized compute/storage/virtualization, cut the physical and energy footprint (running on 24 vs. 116 cores), and sped provisioning and onboarding—supporting rapid headcount growth while dramatically reducing management overhead. The deployment also improved business intelligence, eliminated unplanned downtime, and avoided nearly $1 million in licensing/capital expenses over five years.
