Emirates Float Glass Boosts System Performance 5x On Average

Emirates Float Glass LLC, a Dubai Investments subsidiary and leading UAE producer of float glass (about 600 tons per day), was constrained by aging HP servers and storage that caused performance bottlenecks for its Oracle E‑Business Suite ERP. The company needed a stable, scalable, and cost‑effective platform to support ERP functions across finance, HR, supply chain and production, accelerate reporting and decision‑making, and contain acquisition and database licensing costs as production and business volumes grew.

Working with partner Gerab System Solutions, Emirates Float Glass migrated its customized Oracle E‑Business Suite to Oracle Database Appliance in a single month and went live over a weekend. The appliance delivered an average 5x improvement in data processing, faster reports and response times, improved customer service and decision support, Capacity‑On‑Demand scalability, lower total cost of ownership and simplified operations—allowing the IT team to manage the environment with just four staff.
