Emersion picks Oracle Cloud over AWS for key database workloads

Emersion Systems, a Melbourne-based provider of cloud billing, subscription and payments software, needed to move its core Oracle Database off costly bare-metal hosting so its team could focus on product development and customer work. Preparing to expand beyond Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, the company sought a cloud partner that would deliver greater resiliency, better price/performance and global reach.

Emersion chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (including Oracle Cloud Compute) to host its database workloads. The move delivered elastic scaling, improved resiliency and latency, and a threefold performance improvement in load testing versus its previous environment, while cutting annual database costs by more than 40% compared with a comparable AWS setup and providing responsive Oracle support.
