A Oracle Case Study
ELEM Biotech builds highly detailed virtual-human models from medical scans to help device makers, pharma, and researchers test and improve treatments and procedures. The company’s challenge was delivering extremely compute‑intensive, clinically accurate simulations at scale and on demand—matching supercomputer performance affordably so simulations can represent diverse pathologies and replace some animal and human testing.
Using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure bare‑metal compute, ELEM achieved supercomputer‑class performance with a true lift‑and‑shift deployment, eliminating queues and the need for code retuning. As a result, researchers can run many more targeted simulations faster—testing pacemakers, cardiac devices, or drug safety (including COVID‑19 therapies) on patient‑specific virtual hearts—and ELEM plans to offer these virtual‑human services to hospitals and clinics.
