Preview of the Early Warning System GmbH Case Study

Early Warning System GmbH, a FIFA Subsidiary, Boosts Monitoring of International Sports Betting to Protect Integrity of Soccer

Early Warning System GmbH (EWS), a FIFA subsidiary, protects soccer’s integrity by monitoring and analyzing international sports betting to detect unlawful betting and match manipulation. As betting moved online and in-play markets proliferated, EWS faced rapidly growing data volumes and complexity: it needed near–real-time access to odds feeds from hundreds of operators, faster detection of irregularities across thousands of matches per year (including national leagues and major events), and a scalable, low-maintenance platform that wouldn’t require a large IT team.

EWS deployed Oracle Exadata with Oracle Database 12c, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Multitenant and Oracle Platinum Services to accelerate data integration, processing, and system management. The solution cut data load and processing time from 8 minutes to 90 seconds, reduced dashboard latency from 5 minutes to 5 seconds, handled spikes of roughly 17,000 in‑game odds movements, lowered false alerts, and scaled to national leagues and multi-sport events—while simplifying maintenance and ensuring 24/7 availability.
