Case Study: Driscoll’s achieves 100% WAN uptime and 6x bandwidth cost savings with Oracle SD‑WAN

A Oracle Case Study

Driscoll’s gets the freshest berries from farm to table with an Oracle (formerly Talari) SD-WAN

Driscoll’s, a family‑owned grower and the world’s largest berry distributor, operates farms, nurseries, distribution centers and offices across multiple continents. Because berries spoil quickly, continuous WAN connectivity for inspection, cooling, inventory control, VDI and voice was business‑critical—outages at remote sites caused lost revenue and operational delays, so the company needed fast failover and near‑100% uptime.

Driscoll’s implemented Oracle SD‑WAN (Talari), using packet‑level, packet‑by‑packet routing over dual internet links with priority for time‑sensitive apps like VoIP and VDI, plus real‑time monitoring for visibility and troubleshooting. The deployment eliminated WAN outages and daily IT outage calls, enabled migration off MPLS to broadband (about a 6× reduction in bandwidth cost at key sites), and delivered more reliable application performance and better IT quality of life.
