Discover’s Runway transformation is reinventing technology and ways of working

Discover Financial Services wanted to simplify the experience of adding a Discover card to a mobile payment app, since extra authentication steps were causing some customers to abandon the process. As part of its broader Runway transformation, Discover partnered with Oracle and Accenture, using Oracle cloud applications to modernize finance and improve speed, agility, and customer experience.

Oracle helped Discover implement a pull-provisioning flow in the app and, through the MAPS program, deploy two Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP applications and Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM in 22 months. The project replaced seven customized on-premises systems on time and under budget, accelerated access to financial reporting, and helped Discover release products four times faster, while more than 15 RPA bots eliminated tens of thousands of hours of manual work each year.
