Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s largest mobile operator with more than 7.8 million subscribers and a nationwide retail and service footprint, faced a need to automate enterprise-wide data gathering, analysis, and report distribution. Management required faster, more accurate operational reporting and daily performance updates to accelerate decision-making, reduce IT workload, and let staff generate on-demand reports instead of waiting for month-end.
Using Oracle Business Intelligence Suite, Enterprise Edition (with support from WIPRO and Millennium IT), Dialog integrated 25 source systems into an enterprise data warehouse, deployed 500 executive dashboards, and rolled out self-service reporting, automated alerts, and enterprise reporting across 65,000 retail outlets and nine offices. The implementation delivered daily performance updates instead of monthly reports, saved nearly two weeks per month on outage reporting, cut nearly three work hours per day in complaint handling, improved data integrity, and freed IT to focus on higher-value work.
