Delaware Life Insurance Takes Financial Management to the Cloud to Improve Decision-Making and Support Rapid Growth

Delaware Life Insurance, a U.S. provider of annuity and life products formed after the Sun Life divestiture, needed to stand up a new IT infrastructure quickly and simplify a patchwork of disparate financial systems. The company’s priorities were to centralize core data for regulatory and management reporting, standardize business processes, and move from on‑premises solutions to the cloud to reduce data‑center footprint and enable rapid scalability.

Delaware Life implemented Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud and Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service, consolidating multiple planning, budgeting, and expense systems into an out‑of‑the‑box cloud platform that required minimal customization. The change delivered real‑time expense vs. budget visibility, timely NAIC and management reporting, mobile approvals for managers, lower infrastructure costs, and the ability to scale for growth—supporting 400,000 policyholders and US$40 billion in assets—and was deployed on budget in six months with partner Drivestream.
