A Oracle Case Study
Daiwa House Industry, one of Japan’s largest diversified housing and facility construction companies, needed to eliminate bottlenecks and frequent delays in time-sensitive accounting and billing tasks across its cloud-based, integrated business applications. The company sought a high-performing, scalable database platform to speed up daily batch processing, improve customer-facing systems, and simplify system management to reduce IT troubleshooting time and costs.
Working with Oracle and partner CTC, Daiwa House migrated its existing Oracle Database to Oracle Exadata with minimal application changes and completed the move in under six months. The new platform delivered dramatic results: daily batch jobs ran up to 241x faster (from 80 minutes to 20 seconds), overall system response improved about 3x, billing and contract processes became more reliable, IT staff were freed to focus on new services, and operating costs and deployment time were reduced.
