Case Study: CNSI accelerates Medicaid claims processing and quadruples system performance with Oracle SuperCluster and SPARC

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the CNSI Case Study

CNSI Powers Medicaid Systems in Three States, Accelerates Claims Processing, and Improves System Performance 4x

CNSI is a government-focused IT and business-process outsourcing firm that builds and operates Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) for multiple states. As enrollment and claims volumes grew, CNSI needed to rapidly scale and guarantee high performance and security for MMIS, reduce operational costs and complexity through consolidation and virtualization, prepare for a datacenter move, and meet strict SLAs for data protection and availability.

CNSI deployed Oracle SuperCluster, SPARC T5-2 servers, Oracle Solaris, Oracle ZFS Storage, and Exadata to create a secure, virtualized, multi-tenant platform. The result was a 7:1 consolidation (85% fewer systems), 3–4x back‑end performance improvement, three‑times faster backups, dramatic reductions in query, ETL and batch times (hours to seconds; 24h to <8h), database utilization cut from 80% to <25%, and the ability to scale millions of claims while simplifying management, supporting growth without adding staff, and enabling a cloud MMIS expected to reduce Medicaid operational costs 20–40%.
