A Oracle Case Study
Ciudad de Buenos Aires, the capital and largest city of Argentina, needed to improve visibility and decision-making around storm water runoff, river levels, and flood-prone areas. The municipality sought a real-time, scalable analytics system to integrate new and existing drainage infrastructure, deliver timely information during severe weather, support contingency modeling for large public works, and enable faster preventive maintenance and responses to protect residents and critical infrastructure.
Working with partner BGH and using Oracle Business Intelligence Applications, Oracle Database/Exadata, and Oracle Policy Automation, the city connected remote sensors to a unified data warehouse and built dashboards and control panels for staff. The solution delivered reliable real-time and historical insights, improved early-warning and response procedures, enabled sharing of weather data with other government levels, supported more sophisticated infrastructure modeling, expanded surveillance capabilities, and boosted operational productivity.
