Centroid, a multicloud leader serving more than 200 customers, needed a better way to run real-time analytics apps for clients in automotive, banking, and distribution. Its existing setup on MariaDB on AWS RDS, paired with Tableau, was difficult to maintain due to frequent patches and could not scale well for customers with terabytes of data. Centroid wanted to keep the solution on AWS while improving performance and reducing administration.

Centroid chose Oracle MySQL HeatWave on AWS, a fully managed database service with an in-memory query accelerator, to replace MariaDB without changing code. Oracle helped Centroid double data processing performance and make analytics queries 15X to 20X faster, enabling a single-dashboard view of customer data and giving Centroid confidence to bring new real-time analytics applications to market across industries and data sizes.
