A Oracle Case Study
The BEST WESTERN PLUS Castle Green Hotel, an independent hotel in the UK, faced a challenge with its inefficient, manual property management system. This outdated process was incredibly time-consuming for the revenue manager, who had to manually update rates and availability across multiple channels, including Best Western and online travel agencies, limiting updates to just twice a week. To solve this, the hotel partnered with vendor Oracle and implemented its Oracle Hospitality OPERA Property Cloud Service.
Oracle's solution was a two-way interface between the OPERA system and Best Western. This automated the real-time exchange of rate, restriction, and availability data. The result was a streamlined system that saved significant time, eliminated the risk of overbooking, and allowed the revenue manager to more effectively manipulate rates. This led to an increased average room rate and enabled the hotel to sell more of its high-value rooms, thereby improving overall yield.
