Careem, the Middle East’s multi-service “Everything App,” needed to scale back-office invoice processing for its grocery and delivery operations while reducing manual work, errors, and compliance gaps. Using Oracle, Careem aimed to automate a process that previously took about three minutes per invoice and required hundreds of hours of manual effort each month.

Oracle implemented an AI-powered invoice automation solution using Oracle Integration, OCI Document Understanding, Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing, and Oracle APEX. Oracle’s system now detects new invoices, extracts key data, matches invoices to GRNs, and routes them through a review dashboard, cutting invoice processing time by 70% to under one minute and saving over 332 hours per month; Careem can also handle more than 10,000 invoices monthly and scale 37% more volume without extra staff.
