Carajás modernizes its IT environment with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Carajás, one of Brazil’s largest retail home center chains with 11 stores and two distribution centers, faced an on-premises IT environment that was hard to scale, expensive to maintain, and exposed to security risks as the business grew rapidly. To support more robust, highly available operations, Carajás turned to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer.

Oracle implemented OCI and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer to modernize Carajás’ infrastructure with better compatibility, security, and scalability. The results were strong: OCI delivered 99% average availability and cut system and application response times by about 40%, while Exadata helped reduce database costs by 98% and improve query performance by 80%. Oracle also enabled automatic scaling for peak demand periods, helping Carajás control costs, stabilize processing, and improve customer satisfaction and business growth.
