Bukhatir Group Boosts Application Availability with Oracle Engineered Systems

Bukhatir Group, a diversified UAE conglomerate with operations in construction, education, IT, real estate and retail, was running a single-instance Oracle E‑Business Suite for more than 1,000 users and added several new companies and hundreds of users. Aging HP Unix servers could no longer meet growing demand—performance degraded, reporting and order fulfillment slowed, and system administration became complex—so the group sought a higher‑capacity, more available and cost‑effective hardware platform.

Bukhatir replaced 15 HP servers with two Oracle Database Appliances (one production, one disaster recovery), implemented by Oracle partner Accel Frontline. The move consolidated database and application workloads, slashed resource use from ~90% to 35–45%, eliminated operational slowdowns, cut report generation from hours to minutes, reduced maintenance and I/O troubleshooting time, and lowered operating costs through a scalable pay‑as‑you‑grow model—stabilizing the environment within six months.
