Brain4Data, a German startup focused on AI and robotic process automation for small and midsize businesses, needed a way to power its GenAI assistant, Fred, with trustworthy answers drawn from scattered customer documents, databases, and ERP systems. The company turned to Oracle Database and Oracle’s AI Vector Search and OCI Generative AI services to support retrieval augmented generation (RAG) while keeping the system fast, affordable, scalable, and reliable.

Using Oracle Database, Oracle APEX, and SQL Developer Data Modeler, Brain4Data simplified data storage by keeping documents and vectors together in one database, reducing complexity and improving performance. With Oracle, Fred was able to handle 80% of end-user requests within a few months, and Brain4Data also earned the European Seal of Excellence in early 2024.
