A Oracle Case Study
Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) is a state-owned housing developer established in 1970 that provides and manages residential properties across Botswana, focusing on rapid urban growth areas such as Gaborone and Francistown. BHC faced fragmented, stand‑alone systems for finance, projects, HR, property management and customer service that hampered timely decision‑making, tenant‑purchase scheme monitoring, facility maintenance reporting, rent‑arrears control, and efficient procurement—limiting its ability to expand housing delivery and meet government accountability requirements.
BHC consolidated its systems with Oracle E‑Business Suite Release 12.1.3 running on a single Oracle Database instance (supported by Oracle Linux, Active Data Guard, My Oracle Support and Oracle Advanced Customer Support) with implementation partner SAIS. The unified ERP created a single source of truth, cut the monthly financial close from more than two weeks to 3–4 days, accelerated approval cycles by 5–10 days, improved rent‑debt recovery and maintenance response, reduced duplicate work and support costs, and enabled faster, better‑informed management decisions—supporting increased construction, better customer service and on‑budget delivery within 18 months.
