Block relies on Oracle Cloud SCM, ERP to keep two key finance businesses humming

Block, formerly known as Square, needed better control over the manufacturing, shipping, and supplier costs tied to millions of hardware devices distributed worldwide. To manage complex, multi-country supply chains and improve financial visibility, Block turned to Oracle, using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM across its operations.

With Oracle, Block centralized supply chain and financial data on a single platform, improving cost analysis, supplier negotiation, and planning across 96 countries. Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM helped Block cut fulfillment time from five days to three, and its improved cost visibility led the company to shift more shipments from air to ocean freight, which costs about one-fifth as much.
