Bharti Airtel Enhances Business Agility with Oracle

Bharti Airtel, a leading Indian communications and ICT provider serving customers across 20 countries through mobile, telemedia, B2B, and digital TV lines of business, faced a brittle landscape of legacy point-to-point integrations. Each LOB had built its own services, creating complexity, data duplication, slow time-to-market and limited reuse; the company needed a common services platform to centralize over 500 services and 650 operations, improve governance, and support rapid adoption of telecom standards.

Using Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus and Oracle WebLogic Server, Airtel implemented an enterprise service‑oriented architecture, migrated legacy interfaces, and established centralized governance and monitoring. The platform enabled service reuse, reduced integration complexity and total cost of ownership, sped time‑to‑market, ensured high availability and scalability (processing 50M+ transactions daily), and strengthened security and lifecycle management across lines of business.
