BH Telecom invests in future-proof network policy with Oracle

BH Telecom needed to replace its end-of-life 2G/3G policy platform, which was running on bare metal and did not support 4G or future network requirements, while also reducing footprint, energy use, and operational complexity. To address this, BH Telecom chose Oracle virtualized Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) as part of its Oracle Communications cloud native core solution.

Oracle implemented the new geo-redundant, virtualized PCRF with integration to mobile packet core, OCS, and provisioning systems, along with testing and rollout support from MIBO Komunikacije. The result was a future-proof policy platform delivered in just 6 months, enabling BH Telecom to support 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE today and a smooth transition to 5G without new infrastructure, while improving rollout speed, traffic handling, and overall efficiency.
