A Oracle Case Study
Berenberg, a 1590-founded private bank with offices across Europe and the US, needed to provide developers with daily, full-size copies of production databases while protecting customers’ sensitive financial data. The bank faced frequent structural database changes driven by specialized departments and had to eliminate any risk of data theft or regulatory noncompliance, while still allowing DBAs to perform support tasks without access to confidential information.
Berenberg deployed Oracle Database together with Oracle Data Masking Pack and Oracle Enterprise Manager to mask sensitive tables/columns, monitor and tune performance, and script nonproduction provisioning. The solution scaled data volumes 100x in one year without adding DBAs, delivered auditor-accepted compliance, prevented exposure of critical customer data, sped up provisioning and training, lowered maintenance effort via Oracle Advanced Customer Support, and earned industry recognition.
