Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires Optimizes Human Resources Management; Reduces Payroll Processing Time for its 3,000 Employees by 97%

Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires is the city’s constitutionally mandated bank with ~60 branches, 400 ATMs and about 3,000 employees. Facing long, fragmented HR processes, the bank aimed to cut payroll processing time, consolidate HR IT into a single internal platform, integrate HR with other departments, and upgrade servers and applications to automate services and improve staff selection and training.

Working with Oracle and partner Datco, Banco Ciudad implemented PeopleSoft Human Resources, PeopleSoft Global Payroll, ePerformance and Enterprise Learning Management with a phased rollout. Payroll processing fell from more than 14 hours to about 20 minutes (a 97% reduction), settlements time was shortened by 24 hours, candidate selection dropped from one month to 10 days, external spreadsheet interfaces were eliminated in favor of one‑click payroll retrieval, staff allocation and online access to 100% of employee records were optimized, and the project finished ahead of schedule.
