Case Study: Babcock International achieves secure, federated information-sharing and immediate access for MoD projects with Oracle Identity and Access Management

A Oracle Case Study

Babcock Protects Defense Information Assets with a Secure Information-Sharing Hub

Babcock International Group, a UK engineering‑support services provider for defence and other sectors, was asked by the Ministry of Defence to build a secure information‑sharing hub for its Submarine Operating Centre. The hub needed to store sensitive documentation and enable hundreds of suppliers and contractors to collaborate securely over long periods while reducing access delays (previously up to five days) and lowering security and compliance risk.

Babcock implemented Oracle Identity and Access Management with Oracle WebCenter (with Oracle Platinum partner Aurionpro Solutions), proving the approach in a six‑month pilot. The solution delivers federated, multilayered security, automated provisioning and deprovisioning, immediate role‑based access, and detailed audit trails—improving service‑desk visibility, speeding access, and reducing breach risk ahead of a planned mid‑2015 go‑live.
