Arcor SAIC Uses the Cloud to Unify and Improve Availability of Core Business Applications and Optimize IT Team Resources

Grupo Arcor, a leading global producer of sweets with 39 production facilities and sales in 120 countries, launched the Antares initiative to transform and standardize its commercial, industrial and administrative processes across multiple countries. The company needed to integrate siloed systems for sales, production planning, logistics and finance, reduce IT complexity and total cost of ownership, and gain better visibility and control across its global operations.

Arcor moved its core applications into an Oracle private cloud managed by Oracle Managed Cloud Services and deployed JD Edwards, Demantra, Siebel, Oracle Hyperion and Oracle SOA Suite to unify workflows and data. The result was a reliable, scalable platform serving thousands of users (growing toward 9,000) with improved availability and performance, continuous demand forecasting for more than 1,200 products, standardized financial and logistics processes, better collaboration between sales and manufacturing, and freed IT resources to focus on strategic initiatives as the model is rolled out to other countries.
