Arcor Reduces Logistics Costs with Oracle Cloud

Arcor, an Argentine multinational food and confectionery group with 40 plants and 21,000 employees, struggled to track roughly 350,000 pallets across manufacturing sites, distribution centers and third parties. Pallet data lived in spreadsheets and paper, causing low recovery rates, unnecessary purchases and rising logistics costs.

In a five‑month deployment of Oracle Container Cloud Service (with partners Assa Group and DSI), Arcor digitized pallet tracking, eliminated new pallet purchases (down from 133,500 the prior year), and saved roughly US$1.3M while reducing environmental impact. The solution streamlined lifecycle management, converted purchasing activity into recovery operations, and is being extended to other production plants.
