APS uses Oracle Opower to boost customer satisfaction via load shaping program

Arizona Public Service (APS) wanted to support its goal of delivering 100% clean energy by 2050, but needed customers to better shift electricity use to off-peak hours to help run a clean, reliable grid. Oracle Opower helped APS address this challenge with a behavioral load-shaping program called TOU Plan Coach.

Oracle Opower and APS launched the program for 40,000 customers, and within about two months it shifted more than 250 megawatt-hours of energy to off-peak periods. The effort also improved customer sentiment, with satisfaction rising 13% and dissatisfaction falling 33%.
