Preview of the Almoosa Hospital Case Study

Almoosa Hospital gains business continuity and data resiliency with OCI

Almoosa Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Saudi Arabia, relied on Oracle databases and Oracle E-Business Suite to support 24/7 patient care, but its on-premises backup and restore environment was struggling to meet required recovery time and recovery point objectives. Concerned about downtime for critical surgery and healthcare operations, the hospital looked to Oracle for a more reliable disaster recovery approach using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Oracle implemented disaster recovery on OCI by migrating a copy of Almoosa’s database and applications to the cloud with Oracle Cloud Lift Services and RackWare, using Oracle Active Data Guard and OCI security services such as IAM, VCN, Security Zones, and WAF. The solution delivered near-real-time replication, faster failover, stronger security, and lower total cost of ownership by eliminating duplicate recovery hardware, while also helping Almoosa meet data residency requirements in Saudi Arabia.
