All Nippon Airways Increases New Bookings with Oracle Engineered Systems

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest full‑service airline, expanded international routes and code‑share partnerships to capture growing inbound demand. To support that growth, ANA needed to modernize its international booking system—integrating Amadeus Altéa with internal applications like reservations, mileage and billing—while increasing capacity to process large peak volumes, ensuring high availability, and reducing ongoing administration and maintenance costs.

ANA implemented an integrated platform built on Oracle Exadata with Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle B2B for EDI, Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Enterprise Manager. The solution enabled seamless real‑time data exchange with partner airlines, drove increased new international bookings, scaled to about 300,000 daily transactions (≈30 TPS) and up to 250,000 shared real‑time partner transactions, simplified system management, and improved stability and responsiveness during peak periods.
