A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Alior Bank Case Study

Alior Bank switches from CentOS to Oracle Linux to increase security

Alior Bank, one of Poland’s fastest-growing and most innovative banks, needed to protect the security and availability of its online-banking infrastructure while controlling operational costs. As a leader in technologies like blockchain, open banking, AI, and biometrics, the bank required an open-source OS with optional enterprise support that would be compatible with its existing CentOS environment and address patching and security requirements.

Alior Bank seamlessly migrated from CentOS to Oracle Linux (RHEL‑binary compatible) and used Ksplice to apply patches without reboots. The switch caused no operational disruption, improved security and uptime, drastically reduced maintenance time and costs, and allowed the bank to unify Linux environments while receiving fast vendor support.
