ALEF powers complex HPC financial simulations 30% faster with OCI

Advanced Laboratory for Economics and Finance (ALEF) develops software for complex financial simulations used by banks, insurers, and government agencies, but its customers needed a more scalable, secure, and cost-effective way to run these data-intensive HPC workloads. After evaluating multiple cloud providers, ALEF chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to replace on-premises infrastructure and better support its risk analysis, portfolio management, and asset valuation applications.

Oracle implemented OCI services including HPC compute, File Storage, VPN Connect, Cloud Guard, and database options to run ALEF’s workloads in a private, highly available cloud architecture. The result was stronger security and scalability, faster deployment of new applications, and measurable performance gains: ALEF reported workloads running 30% faster on OCI and up to a 70% improvement for some applications, with certain jobs dropping from more than 30 hours to just a few hours.
