ALEF powers complex financial simulations with Oracle Cloud

ALEF, the Italy-based Advanced Laboratory for Economics and Finance, develops software for banks, insurers, government agencies, and others to run complex financial simulations and risk analysis. To move beyond customers’ on-premises infrastructure and meet growing needs for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and security, ALEF evaluated several cloud providers and chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, along with Oracle HPC and Cloud Guard.

Oracle implemented a cloud-based platform on OCI that delivered enterprise-grade compute, “security by default,” and compliance support. The results were strong: ALEF found workloads ran 30% faster on OCI than on competing clouds, saw up to a 70% performance improvement versus on-premises systems, and reduced some 30-hour processes to just a few hours. Oracle Cloud Guard also helped ALEF identify threats and maintain a stronger security posture for sensitive financial data.
