AJU QMS Cut Ownership Costs by US$620,000 with Oracle Engineered Systems

AJU QMS is the IT arm of Korea’s AJU Group, providing IT development and consulting to 20 group subsidiaries across industries such as automotive, construction, finance, real estate, and hospitality. Facing frequent legacy-system failures (including an unsupported SAP database), rising maintenance costs, and the need for faster response to business requirements and growing data volumes, AJU QMS sought to consolidate disparate databases onto a single, reliable platform.

AJU QMS migrated to Oracle Exadata Database Machine, consolidating SAP, GPS, website, and portal databases and completing SAP migration in 42 hours. The move cut total cost of ownership by US$620,000 over five years and saved US$40,000 annually in licensing and maintenance. Performance improved dramatically—sales transactions run up to 25x faster (3 minutes vs. 15+ hours), SAP/GPS response times improved up to 3x, backups shortened from 14 to 3 hours, CPU and memory usage dropped during peak periods, storage capacity increased 3.6x to 6 TB, and active‑active clustering ensured high availability.
