Air Canada Accelerates Financial Consolidation, Giving Managers More Agility in Planning with Accurate Insight into Performance

Air Canada, Canada’s largest full-service airline and a global carrier serving more than 35 million passengers, faced complex financial-management challenges from multiple business units, branches and currencies. The airline needed faster, more accurate consolidation and more agile budgeting and forecasting than its spreadsheet-based processes allowed.

Air Canada upgraded to Oracle Hyperion 11.1.2.3 and used Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, Financial Reporting, Smart View and Essbase to centralize planning and consolidate financials across 10 business units and roughly 50 cubes. The implementation delivered faster monthly forecast updates, streamlined intercompany eliminations, self-service reporting for finance and nonfinance users, improved user productivity, and timely, accurate insight that gives managers greater agility in planning and performance optimization.
