Aconex puts huge transportation project on fast track

RTD FasTracks is Denver’s massive transit expansion program — 12 construction projects including 122 miles of new rail, 18 miles of bus rapid transit, 57 new stations, 31 park‑and‑rides and the redevelopment of Denver Union Station, plus 25 smaller RTD Capital Programs projects. With more than 3,000 project members from 150 organizations, millions of documents and dozens of concurrent projects — all under public scrutiny and budget pressure — RTD needed a way to coordinate teams, control information and maximize every dollar spent.

Using Aconex Project Controls and Collaboration, RTD implemented a single, central system for multi‑organization collaboration with automated review/approval workflows, document version control and full audit trails. The platform consolidated over 2.3 million documents, delivered timely approvals and gave RTD control across projects, generating US$116 million in direct savings from cost reductions, productivity gains, schedule acceleration, dispute avoidance and reduced rework.
