City of Lubbock improves utility service for 100,000 electricity meters with Oracle Financial Services Software

The City of Lubbock faced challenges with its manual utility account administration processes and infrequent meter reads, which were time-consuming and limited customers' ability to manage their usage. To address this, the city worked with vendor Oracle Financial Services Software and implemented Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service and Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management.

By implementing this Oracle solution, the city automated account record updates and gained the ability to read meters as frequently as every 15 minutes. This provided detailed data that improved customer service, helped customers identify cost-saving opportunities, and allowed the utility to detect patterns indicating potential leaks or high usage.
