A Oracle Exadata Case Study
Ziraat Bankası, Turkey’s oldest and largest government bank, was under constant pressure to keep its core banking systems fast and reliable while processing millions of transactions each day. Its overnight batch jobs were often running too close to the start of business, creating risk of revenue loss, regulatory penalties, and disruptions to ATMs and online banking. To solve this, the bank turned to Oracle Exadata to replace its conventional infrastructure.
Oracle Exadata implemented a fully engineered database platform across multiple Exadata machines to run core banking and disaster recovery workloads. The results were significant: the overnight batch window dropped by more than 60% to three hours, disk usage fell 8x, system utilization dropped from 70% to 30%, and the bank achieved 99.95% availability with support for 25,000 concurrent users and more than 3,000 transactions per second.
