Yapi Kredi Bank Completes IT Transformation to Powerful and Cost-Effective Banking Systems

Yapi Kredi Bank, one of Turkey’s largest private banks, needed to improve the stability and performance of its core banking, credit card, and analytics systems while lowering the total cost of ownership for its aging infrastructure. To address these challenges, the bank turned to Oracle Exadata and Oracle support services as part of a full-scale IT transformation across its database and transaction-processing environments.

Oracle Exadata helped Yapi Kredi consolidate workloads, migrate from mainframe systems, and upgrade databases to a more powerful engineered platform. The bank reduced host servers from 80 to 50, cut hardware footprint by 85% for some analytics applications, and lowered maintenance costs by one-third while reducing electricity and cooling costs by three-quarters. Yapi Kredi also improved performance and availability, accelerated credit card processing, and expected ROI within two years.
