Y-Telecom, one of Yemen’s mobile communications providers, needed to improve application performance, eliminate downtime risks, and speed up customer activations as subscriber demand grew. Oracle Exadata migrated Y-Telecom’s billing and data warehousing databases to a faster, more resilient platform, delivering query response times up to 600x faster and cutting backup time from up to two weeks to 75 minutes. Oracle Exadata also helped reduce total cost of ownership by 7x, improve storage efficiency by 17x, and enable faster provisioning for promotions and new services while increasing reliability and customer satisfaction.
