Xerox, a global public-sector technology provider, needed a way to manage the massive data and transaction volumes behind transportation services such as electronic toll collection, transit fare collection, parking, and traffic management. Working with Oracle Exadata and related Oracle software, Xerox supported systems that process millions of daily transactions across more than 35 countries and help cities tackle congestion, mobility, and pollution challenges.
Oracle Exadata helped Xerox build back-end infrastructure for storing and analyzing transportation data, including Oracle Database, Oracle BI, Siebel CRM, and E-Business Suite. The result was high-volume, real-time processing for more than 2 billion electronic toll transactions annually and US$6 billion in toll revenue, along with smarter analytics that improve traffic planning, fare systems, and mobility services for cities and commuters.
