Uganda Revenue Authority Ensures 99.9% Service Uptime for Government Ministries and Services to Citizens

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), the central body for assessing and collecting public sector revenue in Uganda, was facing frequent downtime, poor database performance, and slow response during peak periods. To improve service delivery for government ministries and citizens, URA turned to Oracle Exadata and related Oracle technology, including Oracle SuperCluster and Oracle Database.

Oracle Exadata helped URA implement a robust, high-availability platform with hardware and software engineered to work together. The result was 99.9% service uptime, elimination of outages, faster issue resolution before business impact, and improved performance even as data volumes grew from the national rollout and Single Customs Territory implementation.
