TDC Accelerates Cash Flow with a 400% Boost to Rating-and-Billing Capacity

TDC Group, a leading telecommunications and Pay-TV provider in Denmark, needed to modernize its business-critical mobile-billing platform to handle rapidly growing data traffic, improve rating-and-billing performance, and speed up cash flow. The company also wanted better online service availability, lower storage costs, and a replacement for its outdated legacy environment using Oracle Exadata.

Oracle Exadata, along with Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance and SPARC T4 servers, helped TDC Group move to a new mobile-billing platform with much higher capacity and performance. Oracle Exadata delivered a 400% increase in rating capacity under normal conditions, a 300% increase at peak, a 30% reduction in bill-cycle runtime, and a 30% faster response time for online service requests, while also cutting storage needs by 50% and enabling production in just 55 hours after migrating more than 70 TB of data over a single weekend.
