Symphony Health Solutions, a healthcare-industry research company, needed a way to manage and analyze rapidly growing prescriptions and claims data in a single warehouse without slowing performance. As its data volume expanded to 5PB and it had to run hundreds of concurrent real-time queries and batch jobs, the company turned to Oracle Exadata to simplify IT, scale cost-effectively, and avoid additional infrastructure investment.

Oracle Exadata helped Symphony Health Solutions consolidate 12 database servers onto 3 half racks, while supporting 500 concurrent batch jobs and delivering batch processing up to 27x faster than the legacy environment. The solution also enabled continuous availability, a 600TB operational data store and 400TB data warehouse, 5TB of daily archiving with no performance degradation, and 5x compression, all while reducing data center space, cooling, and power needs.
