A Oracle Exadata Case Study
Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology needed a scalable way to manage a rapidly growing population of more than 360,000 user identities while improving student access to digital services, protecting privacy, and meeting Ontario FIPPA compliance requirements. The college also had to replace a legacy identity management system that was reaching end of life as it expanded its ERP and campus-solutions environment with Oracle PeopleSoft applications on Oracle Exadata.
Seneca College implemented Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite, with Oracle Identity Management and Oracle Exadata Database Machine supporting the broader platform, and worked with Oracle partner ICSynergy to design and deploy a high-availability solution across multiple campuses. Oracle helped Seneca unify identities into a single account and password, automate access provisioning and deprovisioning, and improve security and IT efficiency; the college went live with identity management in March 2014, completed deployments on time, and also began deploying Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall for stronger threat detection and reporting.
