Oracle Gains Timely and Actionable Business Insight and Cuts IT Complexity and Costs with Enterprise Data Warehouse

Oracle, a global enterprise solutions company, faced the challenge of consolidating data scattered across many business and functional systems while reducing the time and IT complexity involved in reporting and analysis. To improve visibility into operations, Oracle turned to Oracle Exadata, along with Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware components, to support a new enterprise data warehouse and BI environment.

Oracle Exadata helped Oracle implement a centralized analytics platform that integrates data from transactional systems like GSI, CRM, and support. The result was a 15 TB warehouse serving more than 900 users, averaging over 19,000 reports per weekday, with reports running much faster—one contract report improved from eight hours to 20 minutes, a 23x speedup—and data refreshed 1,000x more often.
